There is no limit to team size. The winning team will have the greatest total distance completed by members. For example, if a team had 11 members and the members of a team completed:
2 x half marathons - 2 x 21.1km = 42.2km 5 x 10km - 5 x 10km = 50km 3 x 5km run - 3 x 5km = 15km 1 x 5km walk - 1 x 5km = 5km Total distance = 112.2km Second place will be awarded to a random draw of all teams, so even a small team/family can win a prize. Team members are still eligible for individual prizes. Winning teams will be announced on the day if possible or if not possible within two weeks after the event. |
Drink stations
Our self serve water station will be available at the start/finish area to top up your personal drink bottles and there are drink stations at various locations on the courses.
FruitStrawberry Springs provides fresh strawberries and Sanders Orchard provide a variety of fresh fruit at the finish line.

TimingTiming services provided by Tomato Timing
Event timing - Please ensure that your timing chip is attached correctly. You will not receive a time if you do not have a timing chip. A timing chip will be attached to entrant race bibs (except parents & carers). All tags will become active when each event starts and will be 'read" by a decoder as entrants cross a start mat and later, a finish mat. The start line and the finish line is in the same place for all events. Results will be compiled from "gun" times only. Plastic BagsWarburton is going plastic bag free. If you are going to use the storage area, please bring your own bag (any type).

Warburton Up and Running Fun Run supports the Warburton CFA and Upper Yarra SES.
The courses are mostly on gravel paths/roads following the Yarra River. The half marathon includes an undulating, beautiful forest trail. |
SafetyFor safety reasons no dogs, bicycles or roller-blades are permitted for competitors. For safety reasons, animals are not permitted on the course. N.B Guide dogs are allowed. Pushers and strollers carrying young children are allowed, and it is recommended that these pushers and strollers keep to the left of the course. Some course officials may use bikes.
For the safety of all, walkers are asked not to walk more than two abreast. Please keep to the left of the path to allow runners to pass you. Because we are using public pathways and footpaths please be mindful of other people not in the event, and also be aware that you may encounter bike riders on the paths and footpaths we are using for the event. Medical assistance
First Aid will be in attendance in the event site, and a roving first aider will be on the course if you have any medical issues. Please advise one of the drink station attendants or course marshals if you require assistance. First Aid will be available at the start finish area. Please make sure that you bring your own gels, sunscreen, Vaseline, band-aids and other personal requirements. Recommendations It is recommended that you: a) seek medical advice to ensure that you are fit to compete and this advice is obtained regularly and with the specific demands of this event in mind b) you take appropriate steps to ensure that you are hydrated prior to, and during, the event. |
